random

Here are a few random pictures of things we have been doing lately:

We went to the park with my high school friend Jodi and her little boy Dakota.  We had such a fun morning together.  This was Cora's first time swinging.  She thought it was great!

Auntie Anne stopped by to hang out with us over the weekend.  She and Cora were having fun playing on the floor.

Bath time!  Cora still loves her baths and always plays with her toes.  I wish I was still that flexible!

sweet baby pics

Last night Cora had her six month pictures taken.  It was a beautiful evening and the pictures turned out AMAZING.  Thanks Megan for capturing those sweet faces of our baby.  We LOVE them!  I had Megan's daughter in my class last year.  She came along and helped me make goofy faces at Cora to try to make her smile.  If you want to see some of Cora's pictures check out Megan's blog here.

state fair

Most people go to the fair for the rides and entertainment.

Not us.  We go to the state fair for the delicious, greasy food.  Last year we missed the fair because we were too busy.  We weren't going to let that happen again.  We had empty stomachs and were ready to eat!

James came along to enjoy some pronto pups with Joel.

The turkey legs are my favorite.  I am ashamed to admit that I think I could eat a whole one by myself.  I did share though!

Yummy roasting ears.  I like the butter dripping down your chin James!

And (drumroll please)...
GATOR TATERS!  These are Joel's favorite and they are SO good.  He even tried to make his own one time, but they just didn't compare.

Cora couldn't enjoy the food with us, but she was happy sitting in her stroller sporting her pink tennis shoes.

She loved the lights and noise.  She was very happy even though it was past her bedtime.  Do you like the turkey grease spots on my jeans?

Like any good parents would, we told Cora that she could have anything she wanted.  She went straight to the giant cows.

And we couldn't leave the fair without picking up some bunnies.

(I have to give James credit for sharing some of his photos.  Thanks James!)

weighing in at...

...18 pounds 9 ounces.  Cora is six months old now and I can't believe half a year has gone by already.  My little baby is growing up.

She has a lot to say and often has her mouth wide open.  I'm not sure if that is a characteristic she got from me or her dad.  What do you think?

eat your veggies

Cora has started eating some veggies.

She tried sweet potatoes first.  She probably got more on her face than in her mouth, but I think she liked them.

Next, she tried carrots...

How do you think she liked them??  Lets just say we have moved on to other veggies!

labor day picnic

Not a picnic at the park or at the lake, but a picnic in the corn field.  Joel had to work on Labor Day, so we partied in the field.  Ruth made a delicious "tailgate" meal.  Not quite like a K-State football game tailgater, but still lots of fun!

Papa and "Bammy" (Grammy) joined us for the picnic.

Joel loves his new combine.  He says it is awesome, but if you want to know more about it you will have to ask him.  (I know I am the farm wife, but I am not one of those wives that can tell you all about the farm equipment.  I'm learning SLOWLY.)

Joel's brother, James, has been driving the grain cart.  It looks like such a hard job!  Joel says that I will have to learn someday, but I think I am too chicken.

And here is the grain.  The corn is looking good this year!

ROAR

Cora's cousins, Henry and Harrison, came over to play.  We got out the dinosaurs and the fun began.

Last time when the boys were over Cora cried when the dinosaurs ROARED at her.

Lots of giggles this time.  The boys were so excited that Cora loved their dinosaur ROARS.
