hooray for the weekend

It has been a long week.
Monday and Tuesday I felt pretty crummy.
There wasn't much getting done around here.
Wednesday I felt so much better and then BOOM,
Wednesday night Levi decided it was his turn to be sick.
He was up all night which meant nobody slept very good.
Thursday was a long day with a very sad, sick baby.
We went to the doctor and thankfully it is just a really bad cold.
We are back to breathing treatments because he was starting to wheeze again.
There hasn't been much happening around here,
or many pictures being taken,
or much sleeping for that matter.
But each day I think we are getting a little better.
Which is why we are so glad it is the weekend.

Part of my "be intentional" goal this year involves organization.
I am not an organized person.
I wish I was...my sister is extremely organized.
But I don't think I I was blessed with that gene.
At the beginning of the year I started reading Organized Simplicity.
It is such a good book.
Just what an unorganized mama like me needs.
But it is overwhelming too.
So, when I saw Project Simplify over at Simple Mom I was excited.
She is focusing on one hotspot in your house each week for five weeks.
That seemed much more doable to me.
This week I was planning on joining her and tackling my closets.
Then we all got sick instead.
So, I started my closet project yesterday when Levi finally fell asleep.
Nothing like starting a huge project on Friday, right?

We have two little closets besides Levi's closet.
One in our bedroom and one in the guest room/craft room.
I love old houses except for the lack of closet space.
And if you are already unorganized it is an even bigger problem.
What you can't see is that the closets overflow into the rest of the rooms. :)

I made some major progress yesterday.
Joel's closet is done.
Shelves wiped off, vacuumed and everything.
And it feels so nice.
I have to finish my closet today and then start on Levi's.
I may have to finish next week, but at least it is getting done.
I even have a friend doing this along with me.
When you are unorganized you need accountability,
otherwise I would probably give up!!

When Levi woke up from his nap we snuck the sick boy outside for some fresh air.
It was beautiful yesterday afternoon.
As he was walking around the yard he noticed his swing.
He wanted to swing so badly but it was all tangled up in the tree.
We tried and tried to get it down...he was getting so frustrated with me.

But then dad came home and rescued the tangled swing.
And Levi was so happy.
He loves to swing.

I have to go tackle my closet now...while Levi is asleep.
He is not much help with the whole organizing thing. :)
Hope you have a good weekend.
I have some great giveaways lined up for the rest of March.
And some fun news to share with you next week.
I know it has been quiet around here, but keep checking back!

Sorry you guys were sick: hope everyone is totally well soon.

I love to organize, but I feel like after having 3 kids, I'm falling behind :) I love keeping closets clean though, because there's nothing worse than feeling like your house is clean, but knowing behind every closed door is a huge mess. Good for you, jess!

I've been tackling a room each weekend. The kitchen and my daughter's room are done so far. It felt so good to clean out and get rid of stuff and organize the rest. My room will have to wait until next weekend. I'm dreading it but looking forward to it all at the same time. Good luck with your closets!

1. I think it's difficult for creative people to be organized because it takes alot of 'stuff' to create 'stuff'.
2. I love how little Levi is sleeping in the shape of an "L". Perhaps there's a scrapbook layout lurking in that photograph!

i love how levi sleeps with his legs straight out to the side...so cute. i think the sick has been everywhere, it needs to leave and never come back! ...and i hear ya on the old houses and lack of closet space...all of ours are in eaves, so that makes for some very short closets!

I hear you on the closets! Our house is 109 years old. I don't even have a closet in my room :( And the two we do have are way too small.

Thanks for sharing the site. I think I'll follow along as well.

I remember a post of yours where you mentioned Levi loves crossing his little feet and couldn't help but noticed he even sleeps with his feet crossed! How adorable :)

Thankyou for being real about your closets. Mine are just the same. Perhaps I will be inspired to get in and transform them like you've done with yours?

A secret - I was so inspired by your "be intentional" goal that I borrowed it for my 2011 goal as well. I think it's great! It's helping guide some of my decisions regarding being a wife, mother and speech pathologist. I might blog about how it's working out for me.

I love those little feet as he's curled up taking a nap. Levi is just so precious.

Getting things organized is such a pain in the butt but, oh does it feel good when you're finished : ) I've been taking a closet or drawer at a time and throwing stuff out or donating it. I'm going to check out the blog you mentioned and tackle some more projects.

Hope Levi is feeling better and everyone is getting more sleep.

I hear you...we only have three closets in our old farm house as well. Makes it hard to keep things organized but I think you can give yourself a break since you've been sick! My little ones have had colds this week too...hopefully Spring is just around the corner!

Hope you will all be well soon!

I think it is that time of year, you really want to get some spring cleaning done but at the same time cleaning is not exactly fun...My house is in dire need of a good scrub-down, but I am potty training my youngest, so it isn't going very fast!

Levi is adorable: I love his sleeping pose and his happy face in that swing!

oh goodness, I love that picture of sleeping Levi! I would love LOVE to know what kind of sheet and bumper you have there if you can remember! I'm trying to redo the nursery for baby #2 and working around green walls is proving tough! This is adorable!!

The picture of Levi sleeping in his crib in this post is quite possibly the sweetest thing I've seen in quite some time. Thank him for me -I needed a smile.

My own blonde little guy is having issues with seizures and I am just generally in a "worried" state. He's always had seizures but whenever things change at all besides the "un-normal" norm, I worry myself to death. Sorry for rambling!

Please do kiss sweet Levi & let him know how much this picture blessed me; I've let Cora know her impact on my heart many times:)
